Family: Blechnaceae

Description: Evergreen in type, this very hardy fern enjoys moist, acidic conditions. Short sterile fronds have leaflets that spread filling the stalk while the tall fertile fronds are erect with narrow leaflets that have widely spaced divisions. Spore cases can be found on the fertile leaflets from base to tip. Best propagated by division.
