Description: Evergreen in type, this hardy fern has sterile fronds that are flat and spread from the center. Fertile fronds are tall with the spore case clusters in crescents. The shiny, stiff stalks are purple-brown and persist after the opposite, oval leaflets drop off. It enjoys shaded rock crevices in limestone.
