Scientific Name: Thelypteris noveboracensis

Common Name: New York Fern

Family: Thelypteridaceae

Description: This deciduous fern is hardy and can spread very rapidly. The leaflets are longest at the center of the frond while the lowest triangular leaflets are almost tiny. The spore cases can be found near the edge of the subleaflet which does not have a rolled egde. Enjoys light shade in moist woods, thickets and in sunny openings. Propagate by division.
