Resurrection Fern

Scientific Name: Polypodium polypodioides

Common Name: Resurrection Fern

Family: Polypodiaceae

Description: A hardy fern smooth, leathery and evergreen in appearance, due to variations in moisture and weather conditions. The fronds are gray with scales below while green, with sunken mid-rib and raised dots above. (the dots hold the spore cases underneath.) The fronds curl up during dry conditions but reopen when wet. The creeping rootstock is usually exposed. It grows on mossy rocks and tree branches and trunks.
