Description: A hardy, deciduous fern that has a hairy, scaly stalk with one joint. The leaflets are hairy and white below but turn rusty. The spore cases are hairy and grow almost to the edge. They grow well in rock gardens and enjoy rocky slopes and ledges in light shade. Propagate by division or spores.
